Mangaloe, October 10: Famous Puttur D'Souza Brothers' Walter D'Souza elected as a vice-president for All India Cashew Export Development Corporation's during their 46th annual meeting at Cochin, Kerala. Majority of the cashews from India is exported from Kerala state. This is the first time a person Karnataka state grabbed this high ranking position. Mangalore Cashew Producers Association's past president Walter D'Souza, worked as appoinement directed member in New Mangalore Port. Currently Walter D'Souza is the president of Kanara Industrial and
Handicraft Association's Export & Import Committee. Since 15 years he scored first rank in exporting cashew nut oil in Karnataka. 

"KONKANN BAL 2001" 

Mangalore, October 10: Christian Life Community of Anjelore Church, Mangalore conducted "Konkann Bal 2001" competition at the Don Bosco
Hall for children ages between 3 and 5. Winners were: I Vinol Roche, Anjelore, II Andrea D'Souza, Milagrese and III Ashlita Pinto, Derebail.
During this event Mangalore Corporation's Vice Mayor Lancelot Pinto was honoured. Corporator Smt. Jacintha Alfred released Sri. V.V.'s first
Kokani audio cassette.

WILFY REBIMBUS HONOURED BY KONKANNI KUTAMB-BAHRAIN
 
"Konkani Kutamb" Bahrain was privileged to have the presence of veteran &
prominent composer & singer Sri Wilfy Rebimbus & his wife Meena Rebimbus as
the guests to grace the occasion on 5th October 2001 in Karnataka Social Club
premises accompanied by galaxy of Konkani artists & singers, Prem, Dolla,
Claude, Vishwas & Sandria.
"Konkani Kutamb" complimented in admiration the profound & dedicated service
attributed by Wilfy Rebimbus to Konkani language. Wherever he lands, that land
becomes rich with Konkani music & culture. Exemplary theme is the integral
hallmark of his melodious songs.
A memento was presented in honour of him.

TWO KONKANS ELECTED AS MANGALORE STOCK EXCHANGE OFFICERS

Mangalore: Sri K. Devananda Pai has been elected as a president of Mangalore Stock Exchange for year 2001-2002 on October 7th.  Sri. Ivan Eugene Lobo elected as the Treasurer.  Both were elected unanimously for the board by the members.  Sri Devananda Pai is a member of Stock Exchange since 1994.  He was the president in 1997-1999 and last year he worked as a Director.  Well famous for his leadership and charitable work, Sri Devanand is also a president of Canara High School Old Students' Association, Urwa, Mangalore.  He is a businessman who is actively participating in several community organization.  Since last five years Sri Ivan worked as a Treasurer of Mangalore Stock Exchange.  He is a member of Stock Exchange since seven years.  He is well experienced in 'Investment Management and Treasury Operations'.  He worked in several national and international organizations as prominent roll.
