Melwyn Peris Nite in Kuwait
Indian Art Circle, Funaitees, Kuwait had organized Melwin Peris Nite onThursday, 20th September 2001 at 6.30pm under the First Manglorean
Presidentship of Mr Lawrence D’Souza(Shirva).
Mr Lawrance D’Souza, welcomed the guests, the Ambassador of India, Mr.
PrabuDayal and the Artists from Manglore & Goa, with a brief introduction.
The Ambassador of India, in his message wished all the best for this
Konkani Musical show, as it represents the culture & heritage of
Konkani speaking community.
Melwyn Peris, who was honored “ Sandesha Art Award 1994” (Sandesha-Kala Prashashti) with a special recognition award by Max Rasquinha, founder
& on behalf of Toast Masters Club International Winner of the best actor,
Kala Sampath Inter Parish Drama Competitions, & also an outstanding
guitarist, produced Songs 18volume, & hymns 6 volume cassettes, entertained
almost with new songs to the audience, whereas Reena D’Souza ( Daughter of
most popular Konkani singer, Late Jerome D’Souza) along with Jerry
Rasquinha, a popular Master of the Ceremonies / short story writer, poet, Actor, winner
of best actor award in ‘Kala Sampath Inter-parish competitions’, with
Rony & Jasmine sung together with Melwyn Peris and entertained the show.

Jerry Rasquinha was the best master of this Ceremony too.
There was a special attraction of jokes & skits from Valerian D’Souza, Jeason
Lasrado, Jerry Rasquinha & Johnny Misquith which took the audience to burst out with laughter. The ‘Tutor with his Student’ – explained the “Parts of the Body”
a wonderful skit especially focused on our education system for the children. Students of ballerinas performed a dance on the ‘ Modern Fashion’ under the guidance of Sunil Noronha & Jyothi Colaco with their performances too. The full music system &
orchestra arranged & conducted by a famous musician Ardian Gomes (Shirva) with his team, Johnson/Ruvan/ Najeeb & Munawar gave a special attraction to this
show. Manglorean priests -Fr. Dennis D’Sa,(Bajjodi) Fr. Basil Vas,(Pakishekere) , & Fr Pius James OCD/ Mysore who had come for their mission to Kuwait were present for this musical show along with Fr Melwyn D’Cunha from Kuwait. It was a Second Successful Melwyn Peris Nite in Kuwait’s History.
